Our School Garden

Based on the scientific premise of "Build it, and they will come", now retired teacher, Ellen Bialik, received a $500 grant from the Village Garden Club of La Jolla,

to bring the science to life for our kids. It's thanks to her commitment and passion that McAuliffe Elementary has since cared for not one, but two, garden patches on our campus. Our school's main focus, the Monarch Butterfly. "Following the metamorphosis of our wild butterflies not only teaches our students how to sustain an eco-friendly environment, but they also get the privilege of watching them transform and grow within our schools hallways, walkways, structured poles, and fence free garden."
